Hi, I'm Dylan Lewis! I build things, take flights, and try to understand how both work a little better every year. This is where I bring my story, my aviation log and my projects together in one place.
The short version of a long story
I'm Dylan but online, most people know me as Dillix. I was born and raised in the East Midlands in the UK, and for as long as I can remember I've been more interested in how things work than in leaving them alone.
That started early. At 11 years old I taught myself how to build my first computer, piece by piece, and that habit of learning by doing has stuck with me ever since. I have ADHD, and I think it's part of why I chase new problems the way I do, I'm happiest when I'm mid way through figuring something out.
Technology and cybersecurity pull me in because they're never finished — there's always a new system to understand, a new way something can break, a new way to defend it. Aviation pulls me in for a different reason: the scale of it, the precision, the fact that a few hours in a metal tube can put you somewhere completely different. I track the aircraft I fly, the airlines I use and the countries I land in the same way other people keep a diary.
Travelling is where those two interests meet. Every trip is a chance to see a new airport, fly a new aircraft type, and add a little more to the map. Long term, I'd love to live in Australia, and I want to set foot on every continent before I'm done.
Right now I'm learning cybersecurity, whilst building on years of casual aviation knowledge. Where that leads as a job is still open, either an ethical hacker, cabin crew, or a first officer flying commercially are all genuinely on the table, and I'm glad I don't have to choose yet.
